What is the dress code?

Black Tie Creative.

What does that mean? It’s a more relaxed and playful version of regular black tie. Normally, black tie means men in tuxedos or dark suits, and women in long dresses or gowns. With creative black tie, you still get dolled up, but you have the freedom to try more colors and patterns than you’d normally see with traditional black tie. If the creativity stresses you out, you can always fall back on the traditional black tie staples.

Where is the venue located?

National Museum of Women in the Arts is located downtown near the City Center neighborhood of Washington, D.C. and not far from the Riggs Hotel where our main wedding room block is. It is also a short walk from the Marriott and a quick Metro or bus ride from Yours Truly Hotel where we have rooms reserved. Check out the Accommodations page to book your room.

Which airport is best to fly into?

For those who plan to fly to D.C. to celebrate with us, first—thanks for making the journey! We recommend flying into Washington Reagan National Airport (DCA). It is the closest to the venue and hotels. From DCA, each of the hotels is a short ride on the Metro blue line. Expect an Uber / Lyft between the hotels and DCA to cost ~$15-30.

The other D.C. area airports are Dulles International (IAD) and Baltimore-Washington International (BWI). IAD is a United hub, and BWI is a Delta hub. Between these two, we’d recommend flying into IAD, as it’s reachable by Metro. Otherwise, both airports are about a 45 minute drive from the hotels. From either airport, you can expect an Uber / Lyft to cost ~$50-100.

Do I need a car? Will parking be available?

For those flying into town, you will not need a rental car to get around D.C. You can plan to rely on the Metro and Ubers/Lyfts to get to anywhere you’ll need to be.

For those driving into town, parking is available at the hotels. Parking is not available at the venue; please plan to walk or otherwise rely on public transit to attend the wedding.

What else will be happening this weekend?

For those arriving to DC early, we invite you to join us for a Welcome Reception on Friday, March 21 from 7-9 PM at China Chilcano. Drinks and light bites will be served. Smart casual attire.

Check out our Things To Do page for recommendations on what to do during your visit to DC. There is a high chance that the Cherry Blossoms will be at peak bloom while you’re in D.C. You should definitely try to see the Cherry Blossoms when you’re in town!

Note: Peak bloom is D.C. at its most beautiful, which means accommodations will sell out quicker than usual. We highly encourage you to book your stay as soon as possible!

Can I bring my children?

We are terribly sorry, but due to the nature of our venue, we are unable to accommodate children.

Can I bring a plus one?

Due to the size limitations of the venue, only those listed on the invitation or those with invitations that listed “and Guest” may bring a plus one.
